September List Sandwiches and August Wrapup

August is over, and with it our exploration of the Club sandwich, crisp sandwiches, and corned beef. We managed to put out a respectable 5 posts covering the three topics, a near return to the halcyon days of our early existence, when we could reasonably expect to average that many or more. In addition to that, we celebrated 1 whole year as a website! I’m very pleased with us, Sandwich Tribunal. You may all pat yourselves on the back.

Coming up next, September!

This month we’ll be talking about 2 nearly identical French sandwiches, the Croque-monsieur and the Croque-madame, as well as a perennial favorite of mine, the Cubano. That’s a whole lotta ham, folks.

These are all delicious sandwiches, and should be relatively easy to find and/or make for most of us. I’m hoping to see even more from you this month, guys. As always, let me know if any or all of these sandwiches spark some interest in you in the comments below. I just had a Croque-monsieur last week, so I’m ahead of the game, but I’m not sure yet what I’ll write about it.

Also, if there are any aspiring sandwich writers out there, here’s your chance! Let me know if you have something to say about any of our List sandwiches this month and you too could become a member of the Sandwich Tribunal!

Addendum: We may have our first make-up post ahead of us. Chicken schnitzel was added to the list August 6th. Alphabetically, it appears before our current point in the List. A worthy addition? What do you think?

Sandwich Tribunal

The idea behind this site is to explore the nature of sandwichness by eating every sandwich on the Official en.wikipedia.org List of Sandwiches and then to post here about it, preferably with lots of pictures and also words. Sandwich words.

All right so I suck and my life sucks and I haven’t posted here in months (hopefully when I do again I will fix my old name haha) but I have never heard of chicken schnitzel and am not really sure from the website description what differentiates it from a regular chicken sandwich. What is “schnitzel” in this context anyway? Also, there’s a chickpea salad sandwich right after it on the list now… we didn’t do that either, did we? Anyway, I’d love to hear more from everyone else on the proper course of action where this is concerned. As it is I have no idea.

      Hi Drew,

We covered the chickpea salad sandwich in May. My thought is that some point in the future we’ll add the chicken schnitzel in to make up. Whether we wait until we’ve covered the whole alphabet or we designate a make-up month or what, I’m not sure yet
