March List Sandwiches and February Wrapup

Howdy sandwich fans! Welcome to a new month at Sandwich Tribunal, with three new sandwiches for us to explore! We’ve got some good ones this month, and at least one that’s questionable. Before we get into them though, let’s recap February!

February saw us trying out the Australian Vegemite sandwich, both from an outsider’s point of view and from that of a lifelong fan. We also tried Indian-style Vegetable sandwiches in at least a few of their many permutations. Finally, we ate a lot of cheese sauce while learning about Welsh Rarebit, and even a cheese “sausage” or two!

Now let’s take a look at what’s coming up in March!

We’re starting out the month on a bit of a controversial note. Wrap has been removed as an entry in the Wikipedia list for a few years, but we kept it on here as it is at least sandwich-adjacent and we thought we’d take a look anyway. Moving on, there’s also Wurstbrot, which looks to be a German name for a type of pretty simple lunchmeat sandwich, but we’re not complaining. Finally, there’s the Japanese Yakisoba-pan, which consists of fried noodles stuffed into a hot dog bun. It’s another carb-on-carb grotesquerie, yet I find myself fascinated by it.

All in all, it should be an interesting month. We hope you’ll stick around for it!

Changes to the List

Oh no. “Doughnut sandwich” has been added to the Wikipedia list. We already covered the Luther Burger, what more do you monsters want from us? Under protest, we are adding it to the List.

Sandwich Tribunal

The idea behind this site is to explore the nature of sandwichness by eating every sandwich on the Official en.wikipedia.org List of Sandwiches and then to post here about it, preferably with lots of pictures and also words. Sandwich words.
