October List Sandwiches and September Wrapup

It’s a new month again, everybody, and it’s time to look back at the month gone by. Sometimes it seems like I’m the only one paying attention, but one must have standards.

September was a mixed bag. The Horseshoe of course is a long time favorite of mine, and Har Cheong Gai Burgers were amazing, but Hamdog was so stupid that I feel like we’re all worse off for it existing. I was hoping we’d get a post or two out of the peanut gallery but people’s lives have gotten busy. I get it; September is always a busy month for me as well, with my family’s annual hog roast, and my homebrew club’s big annual fundraiser, and of course my birthday. It’s tough to find time to really dedicate one’s self to exploring a sandwich.

I’m hoping that with the curveball I’m throwing at you in October, I can get some more interest.

Triad #26: October 2016, makeup month #1

list-oct2016

This October we’re doing a makeup month, exploring sandwiches that were added to the list after we were past their section of the alphabet. This set of sandwiches looks pretty good. Beirute is a Brazilian sandwich of cold cuts, cheese, and salad, distinctive due to its use of the pita bread brought to Brazil by Lebanese immigrants in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Carrozza appears to be a breaded fried grilled mozzarella sandwich; please pray for my arteries. And the Chicken Schnitzel is an Australian–not Austrian–fried chicken sandwich, because one can never have too many fried chicken sandwiches.

Who’s up for writing about a sandwich this month? You know you want some of that deep-fried mozzarella sandwich.

Changes to the List:

Nothing major. It appears that Hot Dog is not currently on the list. We will be covering it in the normal order anyway.

Sandwich Tribunal

The idea behind this site is to explore the nature of sandwichness by eating every sandwich on the Official en.wikipedia.org List of Sandwiches and then to post here about it, preferably with lots of pictures and also words. Sandwich words.
