July List sandwiches and June wrapup

Welp, it finally happened. A month in which I was the only person who wrote about any of the sandwiches on the List. I get it, it was June, there were better things to do than sit in front of a computer and write about sandwiches. At least Crit came through with a couple of Random Sandwiches posts. Thanks, Crit!

At least July has a couple more South American sandwiches to get excited about.

There’s the Choripan, which is essentially a portmanteau of Chorizo (sausage) and pan (bread). So it’s the South American equivalent of sausage inna bun, a perennial favorite. Also from South America, we’ve got the Chilean Churrasco, which is basically a steak sandwich of any kind. We’ve covered a couple varieties of Chilean steak sandwiches already, and they’re always a good time.

The big problem this month comes from here in the good ol’ US of A. Why the folks in Fall River, Massachusetts decided to start putting chow mein in a hamburger bun is beyond me, but it sounds even worse than St. Louis’ St. Paul sandwich (currently scheduled for October of 2018).

Let me know if writing about any of those sandwiches this month appeals to you. They don’t all appeal to me but I’ll do my best to cover all of them as usual. Any budding new sandwich writers out there?

Sandwich Tribunal

The idea behind this site is to explore the nature of sandwichness by eating every sandwich on the Official en.wikipedia.org List of Sandwiches and then to post here about it, preferably with lots of pictures and also words. Sandwich words.

Chow mein? even on reading it as a notion, I’m writing a blog post in my head. I’ll give it a go. The others look like a bunch of hard work, though there is a new(is) South American grill place in town that the bloke and I have been meaning to check out. I’ll let you know.
