The Burrata from J.P. Graziano

Take a look at this beauty.

The Burrata

Burrata sandwich from J.P. Graziano, with prosciutto added. Giardiniera on the side

It’s August 21, 2014, and as we all know, August and September are Tomato Season. I take that back, it needs more caps.

TOMATO SEASON.

The tomatoes were fresh, sweet and delicious, enhanced by the sweet and pungent basil; that and the wonderfully creamy burrata was all the sandwich really needed. But of course I had to gild the lily by adding prosciutto and giardiniera for salt, heat and funk. The perfectly crusty D’Amato’s baguette couldn’t have been better. Lettuce with vinegar/oregano an afterthought really, but not an unwelcome one.

This sandwich was the most amazing thing I have tasted in some time, but to be honest, it was only a sandwich for a time before it became a really messy salad I was eating by hand. I had to finish it with a fork. But all sandwiches are ephemeral right? A short time wrapped in paper, a short time being enjoyed, a secret now that only smelling my hands can tell. Or looking at the photo I took I guess.

Anyway, hope you like the web site guys. I have to go wash my hands probably.

I like sandwiches. I like a lot of other things too but sandwiches are pretty great
