December List Sandwiches and November Wrapup

Hard to believe, but it’s already December! Three more sandwiches left for the Tribunal to cover in 2019. They look like good ones, but first, let’s recap what we did in November!

Tortas. So many tortas. We ate dozens of tortas during November, and it was great, and frankly I can’t wait to eat more. Tortas are pretty excellent. We also investigated the open-face sandwich tongue toast, which turns out to perhaps be a forebear of the messhall classic creamed chipped beef on toast. Finally, we explored some of the possibilities of the tofu sandwich, though I feel certain there’s more to discover.

So let’s take a look at December’s sandwiches!

It’s a good thing I’m not sick of tortas, because there’s more incoming. The torta ahogada, that is, a special kind of torta served with a spicy tomato and chile arbol sauce or broth. December also holds the tramezzino, which looks to be a type of Italian tea sandwich. Finally, there’s the Trancapecho from Cochabamba, Bolivia, wherein the ingredients from the local dish silpancho are stuffed into bread and eaten as a sandwich.

Changes to the List

No new sandwiches. None removed. Full speed ahead!

Sandwich Tribunal

The idea behind this site is to explore the nature of sandwichness by eating every sandwich on the Official en.wikipedia.org List of Sandwiches and then to post here about it, preferably with lots of pictures and also words. Sandwich words.
