January Sandwiches and December Wrapup

Hello everybody, and welcome to 2018! The new year brings with it a new month, and the new month brings 3 new sandwiches from the List for us to try.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though. First there’s December’s recap. I enjoyed the challenges that December provided, even if my Open-Faced Sandwiches post ended up being somewhat of a clip show. The Pambazo was has an interesting history and is tasty, though less so than I’d hoped (perhaps I’ll have to try a few more just in case!) and I had some insights about sandwich commonalities while reading up on Nice’s Pan Bagnat.

Well, enough of the past, the future is now!

In January we’ll be exploring Panini, whether the pressed sandwiches of America or the hero sandwiches of Italy. We’ve also got Pastrami on Rye this month, just in time for National Hot Pastrami Day (January 14th). Finally, we have the Patty Melt, and I’ll get back to you when I find something interesting to say about this one. If anybody out there has a burning desire to write about it–or about any of these three sandwiches–please get in touch!

Changes to the List

The List was quiet this month, no major edits other than Hot dog being added to it again. Welcome back!

Sandwich Tribunal

The idea behind this site is to explore the nature of sandwichness by eating every sandwich on the Official en.wikipedia.org List of Sandwiches and then to post here about it, preferably with lots of pictures and also words. Sandwich words.
