December List Sandwiches and November Wrapup

Greeting, fellow sandwich lovers, and welcome to the final month of 2017!

November saw us exploring (perhaps in too much detail) the naan sandwich, leaving little time left to dedicate to our other two sandwiches, muffuletta and obložený chlebíček. Still, the sandwiches were worthwhile, and in addition to getting three further along the List, we also started up a new series on Local Favorites with a writeup of the Guido Special from D&D Foods in Chicago Heights, IL. I’m still hopeful that more of you will send in your own local favorites for us to look into in the future.

In the meantime, on to December!

In December, we’ll be exploring Open-faced sandwiches, those bugbears of sandwich-adjacence that incense the sandwich purists. We’ll also be looking into the Mexican Pambazo, a torta made on bread that has been dipped in guajillo sauce and pan fried. Finally, we’ll try the French pan-bagnat, a Niçoise salad in a bun. I’ve got ideas about all three of these sandwiches, but as always, we’re on the hunt for people out there who feel a strong connection to a particular sandwich and would like to enlighten the rest of us. Please drop me a line if you want to write about any of these sandwiches!

Changes to the List

Nothing major this month. Looks like somebody snuck in at the last moment and removed hot dog from the Wikipedia List of Sandwiches. Too late, jerks! We wrote about it already!

Sandwich Tribunal

The idea behind this site is to explore the nature of sandwichness by eating every sandwich on the Official en.wikipedia.org List of Sandwiches and then to post here about it, preferably with lots of pictures and also words. Sandwich words.
